Prosol offers training in asbestos awareness and asbestos issues.  We have trained local operatives in Burundi to work to US EPA guidelines, and trained electricians in New Delhi to work within an asbestos removal containment under full asbestos conditions, including use of Respiratory Protection Equipment.

 

We can train maintenance personnel in the use of O&M Plans, and have designed and documented procedures for personnel who may need to work on or adjacent to asbestos materials as part of day-to-day routine maintenance activities.  This is particularly prevalent in the shipping industry, where much of the fitting-out and insulation materials on older vessels will be asbestos based.

 

We are have worked on feasibility studies and drawing up outline plans, specifications and budgets for the removal of hazardous asbestos materials from Merchant Navy vessels prior to scrapping/recycling.  Much of this work would involve training local labour groups in places as far afield as China or Pakistan to safely remove the asbestos materials under controlled and carefully monitored conditions.
